DAILY TRANSRACIALS: The Simpsons in Angola

Just like we here at Transracial will do next month, The Simpsons are going to Africa!

And to celebrate their arrival on the Continent, Homer, Marge and the kids have gotten a melanin-rich make-over as they make their debut in Angola next month.

To be fair — the family will go back to their Caucasian selves when the show actually airs on a local satellite channel; the first time the show is broadcast in all of Africa.

But this new “afro-chic” version above was dreamed up by a local Angolan advertising firm in order to help build buzz — and advertisers — for the series.

As you can see, the Simpsons make-over is rather comprehensive: Marge has an Afro, Lisa has braids, there’s a Serengeti elephant scene in the background and Homer is all decked out in a half-sized dashiki.

Fierce!

Along with their Afro-makeover, the Simpsons — the longest running show in America — will welcome special guests for the upcoming season ranging from Neve Campbell to Sarah Silverman, Seth Rogan and Jonah Hill, Coldplay’s Chris Martin and even Eartha Kitt, who recorded her part before passing away last year!
