A new ad campaign from NBC’s local New York City affiliate has got us kind of concerned.
Aimed at promoting the network’s various websites, the campaign is anchored around three Gothamites who are…well…kinda/sorta losers.
There’s Liz: A crazy agoraphobic and foodie convinced aliens are spying on her.
Then Ron: Corporate embezzler forced to chop onions in Mexican restaurant
And Ted: Gay-esque power real estate broker on house arrest complete with leg monitor.
All three have basically gone from fab to drab and are losers in the city they once ruled.
But, the ad notes, thanks to NBC New York’s website, the sorry trio are at least able to keep up on the glamourous lives they once lived and prepare themselves for a hoped-for return
It’s an odd conceit — and we’re not sure it actually works.
