Forgive the cheesey graphics above — but we just had to write about the latest relaxation trend coming out of Europe, beer spas.
The movement to meld bathing with brewskies began a few years back with the debut of spas such as the Chodovar Beer Wellness Land in the Czech Republic.
Now a new beer spa has opened at the Bahenec Wellness Hotel in the Czech town of Písek u Jablunkova close to the Polish border.
Although the hotel says it’s suitable for families and kids, we suspect the spa is more of an adults-only affair.
Why, because the whole place is set up around soaking and drinking the hearty, yeasty beer that has been made in this region since the Middle Ages.
At the new beer spa, guests indulge in two-hour treatments which include soaks in the beer tub, sweats in a Finnish sauna and chill-out time on a traditional oat mattress bed. Along the way, guests can essentially drink as much beer as they like — including from the keg that comes with the beer soak (see above).
It all sounds a bit fancy frat boy for us, but if you’re into the genre, there’s lots more of it all over the Continent.
Prost!
