“He is my baby and deserves the best” — that is the thinking behind a woman who recently paid El Al Airlines $32,000 to book an entire business class section for her — and her dog!
The woman — one Rivka — contacted El Al a few weeks back to discuss transport options for her beloved pooch, Orchuk (AKA Or).
It seems as if there was no way Or would travel from Paris to Tel Aviv in the cargo hold — as most dogs do — and asked to book the boxer a Business Class seat.
She then requested the entire Business Class cabin for herself and Or in case the canine got scared or nervous during the flight.
So El Al did what any airline would do — removed several seats from the plane to make room for Or’s cage, Rivka and the veterinarian she hired to make the flight with them.
“We have never encountered such a request before,” said one El Al official. “But after the lady explained her special relationship with her dog and expressed her willingness to pay extra in order to fly with him, we agreed.”
Canine craziness, if we may say so. And with Madonna arriving in a few weeks to Israel, we’re wondering what special arrangements El Al might make for a real — and really deep-pocketed — diva.
[...] El Al has, however, recently sexed up itsĀ image — and now sells Victoria Secret products as part of its on-board duty-free offerings. It has also recently showed itself very favorable to serving posh pets. [...]
