Back in May at Cannes, perennial bad-boy director Quentin Tarantino’s new film Inglourious Basterds was described as “Kosher Porn” — a reference to its unlikely Jews-Whack-Nazis World War II narrative.
While it was director and Tarantino-collaborator Eli Roth who made the porn statement, it will be Tarantino himself — along with perhaps a few of the flick’s stars — showing up in Israel for the film’s September 17th premiere.
Tarantino’s Holy Land visit is gravitas-rich for a clutch of reasons: It’s his first time visiting Israel and any film anchored around Nazis getting scalped will certainly resonate strongly in the Jewish nation.
I mean talk about a built-in audience — especially if Brad, Angie and the brood tag along.
Of course as we all already know, Tarantino may have made the first Jew-avenge-Nazi blockbuster, but he far from founded the “Kosher Porn” genre — Zionist Porn-King Michael Lucas has totally beat him to it.
