Our favorite funnyman Jerry Seinfeld will make a return to TV — or at least television production — soon with the debut of The Marriage Ref, his new NBC reality show.
Developed by Seinfeld and the folks who bring you the Oprah show, The Marriage Ref sees celebrities and professional relationship counselors try and tackle the everyday problems of married couples.
Since we are not personally married, I suppose we don’t have much Marriage Ref potential. But if YOU are married — and are prepared to air your dirty laundry in front of the entire nation — the show needs you.
An email just entered out in-box letting us know that The Marriage Ref is looking for couples to be on the show — and fast!
And a quick email to the search team just revealed that SAME-SEX married folk are very welcome to apply — not that there’s anything wrong with that!
The search team writes:
A comic, reality series where celebrities and a relationship referee help squabbling MARRIED couples make peace. Created by Seinfeld himself, this is relationship advice… with a comic twist.
“The Marriage Ref” casting team is searching the country for outgoing and opinionated MARRIED couples in long-term relationships, willing to appear on national television, who have a long standing argument or issue that must be resolved. No problem is too small!
* Is there an object, a person, or a habit (e.g. computer, pet, a friend, the remote control) that is a third wheel in your relationship and causes a problem?
* Does your partner have an annoying obnoxious habit or item that causes fights?
* Does your partner do things like withhold sex after a fight?
If you think you fit the criteria described above and are ready to deliver the drama in prime time you should apply HERE as well as send an email here (US OFFICE).
In the email:
Be sure to include your contact info, city you live in, photos, and a paragraph about why you are the perfect couple for this show. Be sure to include a brief explanation about your arguments and tell us why you are RIGHT and your partner is WRONG.
And you gotta move fast — the show wants their couples by July 28th.
