JUST IN TIME FOR HIS REALITY SHOW: Charles Saatchi's Art Confessions

book-cover

Just in time for his new art-focused reality TV show, art and advertising titan Charles Saatchi is debuting the art-confessional My Name is Charles Saatchi and I am an Artoholic: Everything You Need to Know About Art, Ads, Life, God and Other Mysteries and Weren’t Afraid to Ask.

Debuting in September and published by art house Phaidon — with whom we’ve also dabbled — the book is a humorous, memoir-esque, self-revelatory look into Saatchi’s notoriously closed-to-the-press mind.

Indeed, though Saatchi notoriously refuses to be interviewed, the new book is comprised of his fairly frank responses to a battery of questions put to him by leading journalists and critics, as well as members of the public.

At roughly $10, the book is also a cheap and easy read — and we’re keen to give it a go.

Of course folks at Phaidon are making no clear connection between Saatchi’s new book and Fall TV show — but the timing could not be more conspicuous.

And with only six episodes set to air — we’re sure the product placement will begin very early on.
