LAUNCHING ON-LINE: New Tel Aviv Gay Guide

JerusalemPride2006

Lots of Israel news today — but who’s counting?

Our friends over on the Med have alerted us to a new site — gaytlvguide.com – which is the new official travel portal for all things GLBT in Tel Aviv.

Launched by a band of high-tech homo Holy Landers, the site is a comprehensive resource for hotels, restaurants, bars, events, clubs, festivals, shopping, side-trips, beaches and other goodies  for GLBT types vising Israel’s cultural capital.

It was in beta-testing for a few months — this week it officially goes out and proud!  Just in time for Pride week.

Along with all the fun stuff, the site also details the myriad Israeli laws both protecting and promoting GLBT civil rights — more important than ever as Tel Aviv currently celebrates its 100th anniversary.

Though merely a site among thousands, Gaytlvguide.com is an important symbol of Israel’s ongoing comittment to civil liberties in the face of local, regional and global extremist.

And it’s the only site of its kind in all of the Middle East.

Here’s hoping not for long.

Good work!
