BUSTED: British Butchers Beefing Up Poultry with Cow and Pig Parts

A word of advice to our more pious Muslim, Jewish and Hindu readers — you might want to order fish next time you dine out in Britain.

It appears as if English butchers — along with their counterparts in three other EU nations — have been secretly fattening up chicken breasts with a mix of leftover pork and beef tidbits.

The resulting poultry can hold more water and thus fetch a heftier price at the market.

The scam was recently revealed by Britain’s Food Standards Agency who said the scheme has been going on for at least three years in the UK — as well as Spain, Holland and Germany (they suspect).

The presence of pork is clear no-no for religious Jews and Muslims — obvi! – while beef is off-limits to Hindus.

Equally worrisome for all is the risk of mad cow-disease tainting, which can happen when foreign meats meet and mingle.

Think it’s time to go veggie.
